New Years are good — they’re important. It’s the time we take stock of our lives; assess where we’re on purpose and where we’re off-purpose. See what we hunger for in our lives and take a moment to realign ourselves and navigate with fresh eyes.
As we begin another year together, remember YOUR participation is the most powerful and inspiring element of the MAU movement, so don’t hesitate to claim this movement as your own. Send us ideas & requests and share MAU with your friends, sisters, hip mamas, band mates, book group members and prayer circles. Our one request of each of us in the movement is to shout out to our world, “YES! Mothers are addressing the important issues that impact our children: poverty, war, and the environment! YES, Mothers are leading a magnificent revolution to prioritize our children’s lives. YES! You are invited to join this movement!
Get active in 2007. MAU is mobilizing the mamas in 2007 to build three major campaigns, collectively called the Mother agenda: 1) Protect our global family: Champion the MDGs 2) For children’s sake: Preserve our planet, and 3) The true cost of war: Measure the impact on children . We are working in coalition with groups and mamas like YOU to educate our communities and decision makers about these three campaigns and build the political will to shape policies and redistribute money to care for our global family & planet. These three campaigns will run through all MAU’s Web actions, collective actions and field trips — the first action being a letter to our Congressional leaders, introducing ourselves and the Mother Agenda.
This is a New Year of great promise. As Alice Walker’s new book proclaims, “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”
